We
have made a decent amount of progress on the post-production of Greater
Heights. We finished our assignment on color correction and color grading,
which was easier than we expected. Our cinematographer already did a good job
at white balance and eliminating the green fluorescent lighting of the gymnasiums,
we just had to do some fine-tuning. We had a slight problem with the
interviews, however, because the artificial light we brought was a bit warm on
their faces, causing an orange glow. But through color correction and color
grading, we were able to diminish some of the orange and make it seem a bit
more natural.
We
also finished making most of our IndieGoGo site. All of the descriptions and
perks of donating have been added; now we just need to make a trailer to make
people want to donate. That’s where we are running into problems, we don’t know
what track to take for our trailer. We were in the edit lab yesterday playing
around with some ideas, but none of them seemed to cohere. Knowing that our
IndieGoGo needs to be launched soon to make sure we get donations before we
submit to festivals, we are running a bit on a deadline. Worst-case scenario we
will just post a picture of our logo instead of a video, and hope that we get
donations merely by word of mouth. Obviously that is not ideal, but with all
our schoolwork and applying to jobs, it is hard to find free time to make an
extra trailer, especially when we have no solid idea in mind. Hopefully after
some hard brainstorming we can come up with a game plan and executing a trailer
will become a lot easier.
